This sparked a conversation amongst hip-hop purists, truly questioning the talent and motives of hip-hop artists. Throughout this album, he criticized the state of hip-hop and it’s commercialization in the music industry, and how artists had started to sacrifice lyrical integrity and content, for mainstream appeal.
